Matmos - [A Chance to Cut Is a Chance to Cure #03] Spondee |
] |
Recently adopting a dreamy outlook on life and material possessions, I decided to embark upon a journey into what sort of computer system I might have today, it having been about 2.5 years since the purchase of my own diminutive yet faithful computronic device. Exploring the expanded possibilities of RAM capacity in the realm of server motherboards, I happened upon an article regarding a technology demonstration system featuring quad dual-core Opteron processors, dual PCIe SLI video card capability, and a theoretical maximum of 32GiB of RAM capacity, of course also featuring the capability of a RAID array configured of 750GiB perpendicular recording 3Gb/s SATA Seagate 7200.10 drives, for multiple TiB of storage.
Just thinking about how fast and easily I could manipulate uncompressed HDV in After Effects and Premiere and Photoshop and Illustrator simultaneously with a system like that makes drool and other bodily fluids collect on my keyboard. Mac-based media manipulation systems may no longer be the best alternative.
But for now, I will be satisfied with being poor and being confined with the my current system, which is satisfactory in performance, and not limiting the ability to learn new things.

Epica - Cry for the Moon |
] |
This person's MySpace account attempted to add themselves as a friend to my own account. I of course hurriedly denied them, and sent them this message:
hello, I thought you might be interested in buying bad locusts for sale. They are for sale and you should buy them. They are not bad like good locusts are, because these locusts are top quality priority bad locusts, and they won't talk back at you like those pecker tots that live in the backyard with grandma. Only the best wrinkly grass has been fed to these locusts, so you can be assured of their quality potatoes. Fried up with hash, they make a great flight to the desert! They are good for so many things, even Jasper Montignette wishes he had some. Now these rare bad locusts can be yours, for only the cost of one shoe! Your soul is destined for Bess. I hope you enjoy your fate.
Signed, your friend; the Danger Love Monkey.

Good advice. In other news, I am happily at work on my MediaWorks Spring Project, where you can see what I have been doing specifically, if you have the glorious hate-filled wonder of the quicktime plugin.

[04 Apr 2006|04:30pm] |
For those of you who may not have been subjected to this before, I finally figured out a way to embed the edIT Laundry video in a webpage. I think that this is a good place to post it. This was created by me out of footage I shot and footage I appropriated, over xmass break at the end of 2005.
It may take awhile to transfer, as the .mov file is 28.9MiB. You may wish to download it instead of streaming it.

| New Blog |
[15 Feb 2006|02:27am] |
Russian hacker Maxxus has cracked the protection on the new Mac OSx86 10.4.4, and possibilities are looking good for running OSx natively on a PC.
I want to learn how to do this.
Everyone should refer back to my new blog for Mediaworks, on which I will be posting production stills, thoughts about media, analysis papers, and videos of work I've done.

"This is the Mac OS X 10.4.4 Restore Disc included with all the Intel iMacs. It's unpatched so don't bother trying to install it."
"In other news, somewhere in Europe a man with a name that, when translated, sounds vaguely like Maxxuss, was seen dashing through the snow covered streets towards his computer shouting something like "Viva la x86! I must get to my hackintosh!""
